How we’re responding to the COVID-19 virus.

Cedarhurst of Shiloh takes pride in the amazing quality of life that we are able to offer seniors. No matter if it is someone who can live independently but does not want to live alone in their own home, someone who needs a little assistance from time to time with medications and bathing, or someone who has dementia and needs a secure community that provides them with the safe and loving environment that they need, we are here to provide it all.

Our Memory Care Community consists of 31 private apartments that are designed specifically for those with all types of dementia. We have a very well trained, loving, and passionate staff that cares for our residents like family. No two people are the same and that is why we have individualized care plans for each resident so we can make sure that their specific needs are met.

The Alzheimer’s Association is very involved with our community and has been from day one. Our staff has just finished six weeks of training with the Alzheimer’s Association. This training is called The Advanced Person Centered Dementia Care program. The program was designed to teach us how to provide better and more effective care for our residents and provide them with the quality of life that they deserve. It is very important to us that we meet all of their needs including mind, body and spirit.

Cedarhurst as a whole, staff and families, has shown amazing support for those with dementia. This year alone we were able to raise almost $5,000.00 to donate to the Alzheimer’s Association. On September 26th we came together as a team and participated in the Edwardsville Walk to End Alzheimer’s. We had a wonderful group of all ages that were proud to be dressed in their purple and supporting a great cause. We our continuing our support by hosting our own Resident Walk to End Alzheimer’s right here in Shiloh on Oct. 9th and again on Oct. 10th at the Belleville Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
