“Moved our mom here when her needs became more than a previous facility was equipped to handle. Staff has been welcoming and caring. Many activities and opportunities to do things outside of her room. Dining is set up restaurant style and residents are given choices of what they want to eat. Facility is clean and well-maintained. Rooms are nice sized. Focus is on those with various dementia-type needs. We are so glad we chose Cedarhurst!”

“My Aunt Susan, lived here for the last two plus years of her life. She got to live in her own "apartment" and, as far as she was concerned, she was living the way she always did. The staff made her feel safe and loved, and she made friends there. She was also well-fed and involved in many of the daily activities. The staff here encourages residents to participate in activities every day, and it's an absolute game-changer for memory care residents. At other memory care facilities I looked into, there were only two activities: watching TV and bingo. That's it. Cedarhurst, on the other hand, has multiple daily activities and special events going on throughout the year. They really focus on getting residents out of their rooms and interacting with each other. Cedarhurst exclusively serves residents with memory care needs. The staff and management here are truly special people, and they care for their residents with love and compassion. They make sure each resident is treated with the dignity they deserve. And when you can't be there, you know they're safe and taken care of. If you have to move a beloved family member somewhere for memory care, I recommend Cedarhurst.”

“This review is from Linda D Brammer (the wife--not the sister-in-law of the same name who posted a positive review previously). I have been so very pleased with this facility! All of the staff are compassionate, friendly, capable, knowledgeable, and simply fun to be around. They care deeply for the comfort and well-being of the residents. They have been quick to respond to all of my requests. The food is well prepared, good, and nutritious. The residents who need assistance with their meals receive that help with smiles and friendly conversation from the staff. The facility is kept very clean and well maintained as well. I would have no hesitation recommending this facility.”

“Cedarhurst of Springfield has been a blessing for my mom and our family in the 16 months she has been part of this community. The staff are friendly and caring. When I bring my mom back from an outing she is always greeted back by name. Most of the staff know all the residents' names and sees them as individuals. We love all the activities that are available and how Tammy, the activity director, will reach out and invite our mom (and other residents) to join in. The facility has recently been updated so it looks nice and is more easily kept clean. The meals are good and our mom has put on weight since being there which her doctor likes. Our mom has made friends within the community through her dining companions. It has been such a reassurance to have the pressure off us as my mom's memory has declined, to have a group of caring people take the burden off us so we can enjoy our time together with our mom now as family, rather than just focus on her well being. We love Cedarhurst of Springfield. ❤️ July 27, 2024 I would like to add that my mom had a fall during the winter. Cassie, from EmpowerMe which is the inhouse physical therapy and occupational therapy, worked weeks to get approval for my mom's followup physical therapy to address her fall. Because of Cassie's efforts, my mom is physically stronger in pushing herself up from a seated position. She is working to help her have better mobility in using her walker. I cannot sing her praises enough. Also, my mom has had more issues with making it to the bathroom and I have been impressed with how staff will come in and ask her if she needs to use the restroom. If I have any concerns about my mom or her room, they have been addressed that day. I do not worry about my mom. I feel confident in her care and in the people who watch over her. She is where she needs to be and I have peace of mind. Thank you Cedarhurst!”

“We can't say enough about how much we appreciate Cedarhurst of Springfield. It's not an easy decision to place your loved one in memory care. We had so many hesitancies. We tried to care for her ourselves but recognized we needed more specialized care. It seems like, with the passing of time, that our mother's care has gotten better and better. I honestly know that they are doing a much better job than we ever could. The staff, from administration, daily caregivers, kitchen and maintenance are friendly, warm, competent and genuinely loving. “I just want to start by saying that most of the staff here is absolutely amazing. My Grandma spent the final part of her life here. When we visited almost all of the staff was very compassionate and would share there favorite memories they had and went out of there way to help us. Once my Grandma passed they were absolutely amazing and respectful and made her final trip out very peaceful. Just like every place they have some issues that need worked on but the good out ways the bad. I hope I never have to visit there again but if I have to visit a assisted living home again it would be this one.”
