Jacksonville native Becky Woiwode will join Cedarhurst Living as the Executive Director for Cedarhurst of Jacksonville, a new Assisted Living and Memory Care community scheduled to open in July 2016. Woiwode brings with her more than 20 years of experience in long-term care and senior living. Woiwode’s most recent leadership position was as the Administrator of Rosewood Care Center in East Peoria, Illinois, where, amongst other achievements, she led her 115-person team to a five-star rating from the U.S. Center for Medicare Services. She is incredibly passionate about her work with seniors and very excited to return to her hometown roots to launch Cedarhurst of Jacksonville.
“I am looking forward ensuring that Cedarhurst residents experience the absolute best in assisted living and memory care, whether it is wine and cheese happy hour in our Four Seasons Room, live music in our outdoor courtyards, or a day of bass fishing at our onsite 1.5-acre lake. I am also incredibly honored to educate and be a resource for residents and their families dealing with Alzheimer’s Disease, end of life care and chronic health issues, as well as just being there to listen when they need it,” stated Woiwode.
Woiwode’s extensive knowledge of senior living and familiarity with the area will make for a smooth transition back home to Jacksonville. Once settled in, Woiwode will be responsible for overseeing Cedarhurst’s daily operations, communicating with families, and hiring, training and supervising staff.

Inside and out, Cedarhurst of Jacksonville will be an Assisted Living and Memory Care community that is anything but ordinary. Residents will be empowered for independence with customized, resident-centered care and support, first-class architecture and amenities, and an extensively trained and mission-driven staff. Inside the community, all 50 Assisted Living Apartments will have their own bathrooms and kitchenettes, restaurant style dining, and access to the Cedarhurst movie theatre, salon, activities room, library and therapy facility. In Cedarhurst’s safe, secure Memory Care wing, which will accommodate up to 21 residents with Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementias, resident’s lives will be filled with fun and challenging activities, good food, and person-centered care. All Cedarhurst assisted living and memory care residents will have a customized individual care plan to suit their unique needs, including assistance with medications, bathing and personal care. Outdoor amenities include indoor courtyards with raised bed flower and vegetable gardens, a walking path around the entire community and, of course, Lake Cedarhurst – stocked with bass, bluegill and catfish – perfect for reeling in the catch of the day or watching a beautiful sunset with a lap full of grandkids. Apartments will be available to rent monthly, with no need for an expensive “buy-in” or endowment. The goal is work together to ensure our residents are happy, comfortable and getting the most out of every day at Cedarhurst.
