Employee Spotlight: Lenora Berry
Senior living communities are known for providing personal care, laundry services and housekeeping. Cedarhurst of Edwardsville is known for Lenora Berry’s exceptional personal care, quality laundry services and her fantastic deep cleaning in resident apartments. These are just a few of her wonderful skills among the many other ways she goes above and beyond. She considers each of our residents to be a part of her family. Even on her breaks, you will catch Lenora crocheting and visiting with our residents. Some of our favorite decorations were crocheted and put together by Cedarhurst of Edwardsville residents with Lenora’s help.
Lenora was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She moved to Springfield, Illinois when she was nine. She graduated from East Saint Louis High School. Lenora and her husband of thirty six years have four children. They have seven grandkids with two sets of twins born in the same year. Family is extremely important to her, including her Cedarhurst family.
In addition to being passionate about her family and Cedarhurst, Lenora is an avid Cardinals fan! She knows the players, Cardinal history and considers watching the games her personal responsibility. You can spot her on game day with her Cardinal shirts and matching hair bows. She loves going to the games to proudly support her team.
Lenora has been with our community since we opened our doors in April of 2014. While there are many fun moments we’ve shared with her, she also supports our residents through difficult times. Seniors living with memory impairment can sometimes be nervous about tasks we take for granted like taking a shower, going to the bathroom or getting dressed. Lenora is able to help them with her kind and dignified approach and has even lovingly eased the tension of a few residents as they prepared to take their final breath. For these reasons, Cedarhurst of Edwardsville and our families honor Mrs. Berry in this Employee Spotlight.
